CHRIST HAS EXISTED FROM ALL ETERNITY - CHRIST IS NOT A CREATED BEING -  HERE IS AN ABUNDANCE OF EVIDENCE FROM GOD'S WORD PROVING THIS

The Truth about the Godhead

The only way that the eternal, divine existence of Jesus Christ and the divine Personhood of the Holy Spirit can be deniedis to ignore great portions of the Bible and to declare that others wrote many passages in the Spirit of Prophecy.

And that is exactly what these Unitarian Adventists are teaching! They are willing to destroy confidence in God's Word, if doing so will gain them followers. Indeed, they go further. They dare to say that anyone who believes in the full, eternal divinity of Christ and the existence of the Holy Spiritis worshiping Satan!

THIS IS BLASPHEMY (Matthew 12:31) and those men who are teaching this are destined to perish in hellfire unless they repent and openly confess that they have been in error!

"Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men. And touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins."-Numbers 16:26.

SOME FACTS ABOUT THE GODHEAD

"The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave Themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption. In order fully to carry out this plan, it was decided that Christ, the only begotten Son of God, should give Himself an offering for sin. What line can measure the depth of this love?"-Counsels on Health, 222.

"There are three living Persons of the heavenly trio; in the name of these three great powers-The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized, and these powers will co-operate with the obedient subjects of heaven in their efforts to live the new life in Christ."-Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, 63, 1905 (Evangelism, 615).

"The presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three highest powers in the universe and those in whose name the believer is baptized, is pledged to be with every striving soul."-Pacific Union Recorder, July 2, 1908.

"It is Satan's plan to weaken the faith of God's people in the Testimonies. Next follows skepticism in regard to the vital points of our faith, the pillars of our positions, then doubt as to the Holy Scriptures, and then the downward march to perdition. When the Testimonies, which were once believed, are doubted and given up, Satan knows the deceived ones will not stop at this; and he redoubles his efforts till he launches them into open rebellion, which becomes incurable and ends in destruction."-4 Testimonies, 211.

"When the power of God testifies as to what is truth, that truth is to stand forever as the truth. No after suppositions contrary to the light God has given are to entertained. Men will arise with interpretations of Scripture which are to them truth, but which are not truth. . One will arise, and still another, with new light, which contradicts the light that God has given under the demonstration of His Holy Spirit." -1 Selected Messages, 161.

"The very last deception of Satan will be to make of none effect the testimony of the Spirit of God. 'Where there is no vision, the people perish.' "-1 Selected Messages, 48.

 Whose side are you on??

Satan hates the law of God; so he leads men to break it, telling them that it cannot be kept and that God knows that it cannot be kept. Christ, Satan says, did not have our nature because, if He did, He could not have kept the law either.

Satan hates the Bible; so, for thousands of years, he has tried to destroy it or, lacking that, undermine confidence in it.

Satan hates the Spirit of Prophecy; so he incites people with his lies that it is not fully inspired, was copied from others, written by others, or contains error.

Satan hates the Godhead, so he devises every possible way to downgrade the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Satan declares that God is so evil that He consigns the lost to burning flames forever; and, because the Father and the Son are so harsh, we must go to Mary and the saints for help.

Satan's approach to downgrade Christ is to cause people to underrate Him: He is just a babe in Mary's arms, or a created being; some kind of second-rate god. Satan hates Christ (PP 36-37; GC 495)!

Satan's deception about the Holy Spirit is that He does not even exist! The devil surely is bold. But perhaps the most dangerous part of allis when we listen to one of Satan's lies and believe it.

The Divinity of Christ

An insidious attack, on the Godhood of Jesus Christ, is being made by men professing to be faithful Adventists. They are touring the country, speaking, and making videos which deny the basis of our salvation—the Godhood of our Saviour.

Here is a sample of their devastating statements, downgrading Jesus:

"God the Father is the One and only being in the universe that did not have a beginning of any kind . . one and only supreme being in the universe . . the ‘one God.’ "—Fred Alaback, Liberty Review, October, 1989.

"Our heavenly Father is the One Supreme Being in the universe. He is the source from which comes all life and power . . Our heavenly Father is the only true God—period!"—Bill Stringfellow, video taped presentation, Part One, March, 1994.

"There is one God, and that’s the Father, and there’s only one God—there’s no more Gods, but one."—Caleb Alonso, video taped sermon, Part One, December 21, 1991.

"My purpose has been . . to establish the Bible truth of One God, the Father."—Marty Wold, Form letter, August 19, 1987, 12.

"The entire gospel is based on the fact that there is one God, the Father."—Scott Stanley, John Smith, and John Encisco, booklet, 9.

In one of their booklets, entitled, 'What Did the Pioneers Believe?' they list Ellen White as supporting their Unitarian position, yet are careful to not quote any of her numerous statements In support of the full Godhood of Jesus Christ. Instead, they deceptively only quote a few of her statements, that we should remain by the "landmarks." The remainder of the booklet consists of quotations from earlier church workers who were in error on this point. In the pages which follow, you will find a remarkably complete presentation of what the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy say on this.

You now have in hand the evidence to fully refute the heresy that the Saviour; whom you pin your hopes of salvation upon, is a finite beinga created being who is only a little above the angels. (Here also will be found vindications of the Person and Godhood of the Holy Spirit. These are truths which are also under attack.) The devil hates Jesus. Here are a few of the many Unitarian statements by spiritualists:

"The One [God] is the term most suitable for defining the Absolute, since the whole precedes the parts."—The Secret Teachings of All Ages, XV, by Manly P. Hall, 33rd Degree Mason.

"The Father uttered himself and all creatures in the Word, his Son, and the return of the Father into himself includes the like return of all creatures into the same Eternal Source. The logical genesis of the Son furnishes a type of all evolution or creation; the Son is the unity of all the works of God . . God is in all things, and God is all things."—Dictionary of All Scriptures and Myths, by G.A. Gaskell, 770.

"Holy is God, whose will is performed and accomplished by His own powers which He hath given birth to out of Himself."—Hall, quoting Hermes, the founder of the mysteries of spiritualism, XL.

"The Absolute [or God—the One Source of all] . . is the beginning and final goal of the whole series of essences which exist . . the beginning and end of all things."—Gaskell, 317.

INTRODUCTION

The Godhead consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. "Arians" believe that Christ is not fully God. "Unitarians" believe there is no Holy Spirit either. So the men currently attacking both are actually "Unitarian Adventists." Outside of Adventism, it is generally only atheists who are Unitarians. Satan wants to destroy the Bible doctrines of God, and he wants to destroy the Bible truth about the Godhead.

We earlier produced several Spirit of Prophecy compilations which clearly show that all three Persons of the Godhead are fully divine in the fullest sense of the word.

This present study goes deeper into the topic—because precious souls are being led into error by traveling independent Adventist preachers who are leading them astray. Those of us who believe in God’s Word must do what we can to help one another.

Christians do not question the fullness of the Father’s divinity, so this present study will focus on the divine attributes of the Son. A companion study will defend the Holy Spirit.

We should be magnifying Christ and the Holy Spirit instead of downgrading them—as some are trying to do. Read Matthew 12:31. When the Judgment meets and the books are opened, I would fear to be in the shoes of such men. It is true that some of our denominational workers did not have the full light a century ago. But, in the Spirit of Prophecy, Adventists now have so much more. The damning question will be asked regarding the men now doing this: "Instead of proclaiming the Third Angel’s Message, why were they attacking the divinity of Christ and the existence of the Holy Spirit?"
